It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer.’Matthew 21:13
CUMC is a prayerful church praying for our world, our nation, our community, our family of faith. Our goal is to heed God’s call to pray continually (I Th 5:17) and to do what the Lord requires of us: To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.
Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful.Collosians 4:2
On-going prayer occurs for any person who requests either private or congregational prayer. People with concerns who would like congregational prayers, our shut-ins, and military personnel are listed on the back of our bulletin each week.
Every week before each worship service our pastor and two people pray:
- for humble empowerment of our pastor to share God’s love & grace
- for our congregation, that each may be made even more aware of God’s presence and love, leading to renewal and to a closer walk with God
If you are interested in becoming a prayer team member, please call Sue West at 741-8157.
At any time a team of people are ready to confidentially and faithfully pray for you whether you have a prayer concern or a prayer of joy. Call Julie Suckow at 542-9235 (or the church office 759-8921) to initiate a prayer which will be prayed by prayer chain members on your behalf.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.Ephesians 6:18
A beautiful room bordered by windows on one side overlooking our beautiful courtyard, and on another by stained glass windows and precious remembrances of our original church, provides a setting of quietude and peace. An altar is present on which one may focus as each is invited to sit in stillness, prayer, or sharing with others. You are welcome at any time to feel the very presence of God in this holy setting.
